MEDICAL SKIN PEEL

A chemical peel is a chemical exfoliation process that penetrates deeper into the skin for the top layers of the skin to start shedding. Chemical peels will assist with regulating oil production and target bacteria within the skin. Chemical peels improve the appearance of acne scars by breaking the bonds of the outer layer of skin to remove the dull, old-looking outer skin and promoting new skin genesis. The new skin that replaces it is usually smoother and less scarred in appearance.

BEFORE & AFTER

FAQ

How long does it take to recover?

Treated areas take about one to seven days to heal after a light medical peel.

How often should I get a medical peel?

It is generally advised to get a chemical peel every four to six weeks. However, if you suffer from acne, there are some peels that you can do every two weeks until you achieve your desired results. Most clients purchase a package of four or five peels upfront to achieve the treatment results wanted.

Is a medical peel painful?

No. There is a mild degree of “tingling” or an itchy sensation while the acid solution is in contact with the skin. Upon neutralizing the peel, the skin feels fresh and smooth without discomfort.

Are skin peels safe for all skin types?

Superficial peels are safe for all skin types. However, any type of medical peel takes some time to recover and can cause side effects such as redness, peeling, and sensitivity to sunlight. Your aesthetician will help determine if a medical peel is right for you.
