Book Consultation

Overview

Mole removal at FusionMed is a physician-performed procedure that begins with a thorough dermatological assessment of each lesion. Our team evaluates moles using accepted clinical criteria (symmetry, border, color, diameter, evolution) to confirm benign status and confirm the appropriateness of removal. We employ multiple removal techniques — including shave excision, punch excision, and medical-grade electrocautery — selected based on lesion type, depth, and location. Patient safety and cosmetic outcome are equally prioritized in every case.

Ideal Candidate

Who It's For

Mole removal is appropriate for adults with benign moles that are cosmetically bothersome, prone to irritation from clothing or shaving, or that have changed in appearance over time. Skin tags and seborrheic keratoses (raised, rough benign growths) are also commonly treated. Any lesion that appears atypical or has recently changed should be assessed for possible referral before cosmetic removal. A physician consultation is mandatory before any lesion removal.

The Process

How It Works

01

Medical Assessment

Each lesion is assessed by our physician prior to removal. Suspicious or atypical lesions may be referred for biopsy. Only confirmed benign lesions are treated in-clinic. Photographs are taken for the medical record.

02

Precise Removal

The area is numbed with local anesthetic. The appropriate removal technique — shave excision, surgical excision, or electrocautery — is applied. The procedure takes 15–30 minutes depending on the number and complexity of lesions.

03

Wound Care & Healing

The treated site is dressed and detailed aftercare instructions are provided. Healing takes 1–3 weeks. A follow-up appointment at 4–6 weeks allows assessment of the healed site and additional treatment if needed.

Common Questions

FAQs

How do I know if my mole is safe to remove?

Our physician assesses every mole prior to removal using clinical criteria. If there is any concern about a lesion's appearance or history, we may recommend a biopsy before proceeding. Moles that are new, rapidly growing, asymmetric, multi-colored, or have irregular borders should always be medically evaluated before removal.

Will mole removal leave a scar?

All skin procedures carry some risk of scarring, but our technique selection and wound care protocols are designed to minimize this. Shave excisions typically heal with minimal trace, particularly on the face. Deeper excisions may leave a fine linear scar that fades significantly over 6–12 months. Scar management products and treatments are available if needed.

Can multiple lesions be removed in one session?

Yes. Multiple benign lesions can often be removed in a single appointment, provided they have been assessed and confirmed as appropriate for removal. We will advise on the number of lesions that can be addressed in one session based on location and complexity.

What is the aftercare following mole removal?

The treated site should be kept clean and moist with a healing ointment for the first week. Avoid sun exposure to the area during healing, and apply SPF 50+ once healed to minimize post-inflammatory pigmentation. You will receive detailed written aftercare instructions at your appointment.
